The cold front that moved through last evening is now to the east of Michigan. Behind that front the door has been opened for some cold arctic air to move into West Michigan and it will not be going anywhere soon. Highs today and through the weekend will not likely make it out of the 20s. Due to the cold air moving over the relatively warmer lake waters, lake effect snow will be a possibility over the next couple of days. The most favorable areas for seeing snow today would likely be from a line from Muskegon to Battle Creek and westward towards the lake. More lake effect snow showers will be around tonight into Friday. A completely separate system will bring a chance of snow on Saturday, with more lake effect snow showers possible into Sunday.
